Job Description
The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the evaluation and implementation of new features in Oracle including functionality, performance tuning, troubleshooting and issue resolution across complex 11g, 10g and 9i RAC and non-RAC environments.

The individual will also be responsible for analyzing, solving and creating solutions for challenging performance tuning situations. Other accountabilities include all standard database administrative tasks such as: proactive performance tuning, monitoring and profiling, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery, partitioning, replication, installations and configurations on an as needed basis as well as applying patches and upgrades.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Perform day-to-day database administration on existing databases
  • Work closely with the software development staff to design and implement systems that leverage the Oracle database technologies
  • Develop, test, and implement backup/recovery procedures
  • Perform database tuning activities for optimal performance to meet business SLAs
  • Be available for rotating on-call support duties.

    Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
  • 3+ years of UNIX/Linux systems experience
  • Significant experience with: RAC, partitioning, replication and parallel processing
  • Familiar with NetApp backup/recovery methodologies
  • Familiar with development tools such as Toad or Oracle SQL Developer
  • Experience with the following a plus: Oracle Financials, Oracle HR, data warehouse processes, SOA technologies
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
